MY STORY
Hi, I’m Bairbre. I am based at & run The Studio, Spillers Lane in Clonakilty, West Cork, I also work online. I am an acupuncturist, breathwork facilitator, Somatic Experiencing practitioner & yoga teacher, I work online with breathwork & somatic experiencing, always supported by plant medicine.
My mission statement is that ‘People connect to their inner Shaman or Healer’.
I see the work I do as as a supportive exploration for others to see & realise their full potential & to self-heal
Main Trainings & Explorations
Breathwork has been a transformational part of my daily practice and healing journey. I trained with my teacher David, from whom I continue to learn. Currently, I facilitate these classes both in person and online.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is my recent focus, discovered as part of my plant medicine integration support work. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), I follow the life work of Peter Levine in gently resolving trauma.
Acupuncture was my main focus & work between 2009-2016. I undertook a postgraduate training program at Nanjing University in China. Most of my work with acupuncture is now on: fertility, pregnancy and pre-birthing (preparation for birth).
Yoga is a discipline that fully supports me physically. I qualified as an Iyengar teacher in 2012, inspired by my long term teacher Pavara, a member of the Dublin Buddhist Order and Senior Iyengar teacher

It began when living in South East Asia in my late 20’s.
Inspired by life, people & the land there, life has never been the same since…
Plant medicine is my anchor
I completed a 2 year herbal apprenticeship in Ireland & following, spent 2 years working in a plant medicine centre in the Amazon of Peru, living with & learning from the Shipibo people & gaining an insight into their ancient knowledge of plants, including Ayahuasca. I continue to work in this way with plant dietas & ceremonies in Ireland & in other countries, this is a huge & invaluable part of my personal work. With immense gratitude to the plants I am privileged to be able to continue this work which allows me to assist others in their healing & always learning more about myself & my own healing as part of this process.
I was one of the 12 founding members of Acupuncture Childbirth Team (ACT) Dublin. The ACT team (now AFPI) are a group of established and registered acupuncturists who provide treatments for fertility, pregnancy and childbirth in the Dublin area who work in collaboration with the fertility, maternity and paediatric services provided within Dublin & have all undergone post-graduate training in the areas of fertility, pregnancy and childbirth. I have worked with the Acupuncture Foundation college as clinical supervisor for third year student clinics & exams. I have also worked as an Acupuncturist & Yoga teacher with Dublin Simon Community on a volunteer basis & have assisted in programmes to help spread awareness of Complimentary therapies to its residents.
I am a registered member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association & a Teacher Member of the Iyengar Yoga Association.
